Prototyping and testing
An iterative, evidence-based approach for confident design progression

Prototyping and testing are fundamental to Zoocha’s UX design process. They enable us to evaluate design decisions via real-world feedback, navigating assumptions and unconscious bias along the way.
By rapidly iterating on concepts and assessing them with end users, our clients gain early confidence in their digital products being intuitive, usable, accessible, and high-performing at launch.
This can help reduce (more costly) post-launch updates and ensure that digital experiences have been thoroughly vetted and validated by their target audiences before being built.
A structured prototyping process
Zoocha’s structured low-to-high fidelity prototyping approach supports quick progress through the design pipeline.
Co-creation & sketching
Capturing diverse ideas in early sketching sessions opens the door to creative design thinking. Zoocha’s UX designers love working alongside stakeholders and end users to co-create initial concepts for further exploration and refinement.
Paper prototyping
These quick-turnaround, tactile iterations allow us to rapidly visualise early designs and gather valuable initial feedback without significant investment.
Lo-fi & mid-fi wireframes
Structural, modular designs focusing on layout and information hierarchy, establishing the foundation for intuitive user journeys.
Hi-fi clickable prototypes
Interactive, no-code Figma prototypes that accurately simulate real-world user experiences, allowing thorough testing of functionality and visual design before moving into build.
Recruitment and test planning
Understanding who we want to recruit for testing and what we want to learn, we create a recruitment screener alongside a comprehensive plan, designing discussion guides and test scripts where required.
Our test plans can range from quick, light-touch user engagements to deeper, more comprehensive studies. We’ll always collaborate closely with you to find the right approach for your project, budget and timescales.
Testing, analysis and recommendations
In addition to testing the usability of existing digital products via Zoccha’s UX audits, we use usability testing to observe end users interacting with prototypes, highlighting potential pain points and opportunities for improvements early on in the design process.
We do this through a combination of:
- Focus groups – Ideal for early conversations around broad concepts and approaches, and understanding how they resonate with end users.
- Remote moderated testing – Using tools like LookBack, we conduct guided usability sessions with users to capture authentic interactions and insights in the users’ natural environment.
- Unmoderated usability testing – Gathering qualitative and quantitative data around a user experience or journey, often focusing on information architecture, usability and findability of content.
- Guerilla testing – Ideal for quick feedback and validation, or for when budgets or timescales may be tight.
- Accessibility testing – Testing with people with disabilities ensures our products are open to all and fully inclusive and accessible.
Post-test, we’ll provide you with a full report of the test findings, highlighting areas for improvement, prioritised recommendations, and how best to incorporate them into our next iterative design cycle.
Supported by Zoocha’s industry-leading developers
By bringing Zoocha’s developers into the design process early, we ensure any proposed solutions are:
Technically feasible – We eliminate the friction that can occur when design concepts meet implementation reality.
Scalable and efficient – We ensure designs work within technical constraints while maintaining the flexibility to grow with your needs or adapt to unforeseen change.
Optimised for performance – We validate that digital products will be fast, responsive, and delightful for users, regardless of device or situation.
