We’re proud to share a major milestone in Zoocha’s journey.

As of April 2026, Zoocha is now the largest contributor to Drupal based in the UK by contribution volume, and the 5th largest contributor overall worldwide. This achievement reflects years of sustained commitment to the Drupal ecosystem, our people, and the open-source principles that underpin everything we do.

Since Zoocha was founded in 2009, Drupal has been central to our story. What began as an early technical decision quickly became a long-term strategic commitment. We fully embraced Drupal as our core platform, recognising not just its technical capabilities, but the strength of its community and its open, collaborative model.

Over the years, that commitment has shaped how we build, how we collaborate, and how we grow. From our first Drupal projects through to becoming a Diamond Certified Drupal Partner, we’ve always believed in the power of open-source and the importance of contributing back.

Building a culture of contribution

At Zoocha, we have actively encourage every member of our team to contribute to Drupal in ways that align with their skills and interests. That includes:

• Contributing code, patches, and modules
• Supporting issue queues and community discussions
• Speaking at Drupal events and sharing knowledge
• Mentoring others within the community

We’ve embedded contribution into our culture by recognising and rewarding it. Internal initiatives, including contribution incentives and prize draws, help ensure that giving back to Drupal is visible, valued, and sustained over time.

Alongside this, we also sponsor key members of the Drupal community, enabling them to continue their work on core and high-impact projects. This ensures that critical parts of the ecosystem remain well maintained and continue to evolve.
