Introduction

This year saw Zoocha take our largest team, and new brand, to DrupalCon Europe in Vienna. With our new brand ready to showcase, we also decided to setup a booth for the first time in a decade. Armed with a renewed enthusiasm, the backdrop of the beautiful city of Vienna couldn't have been a better location for a superb week of energy, innovation, and community.

Our highlights

DrupalCon is for everyone, no matter your experience level with Drupal or professional background, there really is something for everyone. Personally, I gained massive benefit from the insights shared through the Drupal Business Dinner, as well as the engagement with the Drupal Association that kicked off early with the Partner Summit on Monday.

Our team have also summed up their highlights from the week:

Sam Gibson - Head of Client Services

"I volunteer at DrupalCon wherever I can, this year I was monitoring the session "Redefining Leadership: How Adversity can cultivate Strength, Empathy, and Leadership Skills" delivered by Rae Pizer. This was incredibly moving and inspiring, a real testament to true leadership despite adversity"

Titi Dumitrescu - DevOps Lead

"Alongside presenting my own session, I also enjoyed hearing all the updates on Drupal CMS 2.0, as well as connecting with the community and bouncing ideas with other attendees, which is always fantastic at DrupalCon"

Paul Sebborn - FrontEnd Lead

"This was my second time presenting at DrupalCon and I've lost count of the cons I've attended. This year, I particularly enjoyed participating in my first BOF on accessibility, as well as the session: "The Future of Drupal Theming: AI, Drupal Canvas, and Beyond" by Mike Herchel"

Duncan Worrell - Technical Client Services Manager

"Alongside delivering my own session on Drupal content architecture, I made sure to attend all the sessions on Drupal Canvas and am incredibly excited about how this will impact the future of Drupal"

Alex Johnston - DevOps Manager

"As track lead for the InfoSec & DevOps track, I not only enjoyed having a hand in the selection process of the sessions that would be held at DrupalCon Europe, but also massively enjoyed seeing them come to life across the week"

Will Huggins - CEO

"DrupalCon Europe is a brilliant week every year, but this year was made particularly special with Jess XJM being recognised at the Women in Drupal Awards with the Scale Award. At Zoocha, we have continuously sponsored Jess and are in awe of their technical ability and passion, it was great to see her recognised"

Hannah McDermott - Delivery Director

"After attending Atlanta earlier this year, I was excited to see what DrupalCon Europe would add to the conversation. I attended the session: "Leading Through the Storm: My Journey with Mental Health to the C-Suite" delivered by Diego Costa. This was not only my favourite session of the week, but one of the most impactful sessions I have seen at any DrupalCon"

Tyler Staples - Drupal Developer

"This was my first DrupalCon! I've been really keen on contributing and working with DrupalCamp England on setting up for next year, it was really fantastic to see so many sessions and put so many faces to names"

In summary

We were genuinely thrilled to connect with so many attendees at our booth, and give away some of our new socks and bags that highlight the new direction of Zoocha. It can be easy to take the thriving community for granted, but DrupalCon really demonstrates the hard-work, passion and enthusiasm of a growing global community that is absolutely non-stop towards innovation.

We'll take a beat this week to digest and reflect, but it's hard not to be already excited for next year, where we'll be ready to do it all again in Rotterdam!
