Falmouth University
Supporting the Falmouth University’s main platform, ensuring performance and stability for 100k monthly visitors and extensive content demands.

The ask
As a reputable higher education institution, Falmouth University required a Drupal support solution that would be capable of managing peaks in traffic and a large quantity of content without compromising performance.
The platform had been sitting on an outdated Drupal 7 architecture that required an upgrade to (at the time) Drupal 9, as our partnership progressed, it was decided that Zoocha would take on this development. Zoocha therefore delivered the ‘like for like’ upgrade of the Falmouth University platform alongside support, ensuring the delivery of any enhancements that Drupal 9 offered along the way.
This has since progressed to Drupal 11, consistently improving the Falmouth University platform whilst allowing their team to retain the functionality and editor experiences that underpin the success of the digital team.

The ask
Drupal support & managed hosting
After completing the initial technical audit and recommendation matrix, Zoocha assumed the management of the Falmouth University site. This partnership has involved working closely with their digital team to offer full transparency into the performance of the service and 24/7/365 support for critical incidents.
Through regular service desk reviews, Zoocha have provided dedicated insight into the service desk each month, including the quantity of tickets raised, SLA adherence and site performance.
Through leveraging our managed hosting service using AWS technologies, Falmouth University have benefited from exceptional uptime and site performance. This has been coupled with a strong commitment to security, with any security risks promptly resolved and shared transparently with the Falmouth University team.

AMATA development
The Academy of Music and Theatre Arts (AMATA) microsite has provided Falmouth University users with a tailored microsite experience to view the AMATA offering. With various changes made to the existing system, we were able to improve a number of features such as event tagging and user accessibility. For consistency, the platform maintains the Falmouth University branding, coupled with AMATA’s individual logo.
The AMATA microsite also offers its own events page, providing users with a clearer and more arts-focussed search functionality, contrasting the more general main events page.

The results
Zoocha continue to enjoy a partnership with Falmouth University that prioritises transparency, flexibility, and accountability. As we continue to grow the Falmouth University platform, we’re keen to balance adherence to competitive SLAs with ongoing continuous improvement and optimisation.
