There has been quite a lot of coverage recently in the mainstream media about IE6 for its part in the Operation Aurora cyber attacks that occurred in December. This has lead to both the French and German governments[1]recommending against the use of IE6 as a web browser because of its security vulnerabilities. It will be interesting to see if the UK follows suit with a similar warning, and it will be more interesting to see what sort of effect these warnings will have on the browser market, particularly after the French government recommended Mozilla Firefox, followed by Google Chrome as the safest browsers.
