According to the UN, the number of refugees fleeing Ukraine has now reached 2 million, and the need for safe accommodation away from the conflict is only set to grow.

Zoocha worked free of charge with our long-term client, HotelSwaps, to provide displaced Ukrainian people with the ability to book hotel rooms in neighbouring countries for free as a means of escaping the invasion of their home country. Hotels are able to contribute rooms via the service with Ukrainian people able to immediately book, providing them with urgent safe refuge away from the conflict.

Zoocha would like to particularly recognise our Senior Developer, Titi Dumitrescu, in his efforts to develop the functionality required to launch the service within just one week of the crisis breaking out. There are now 135 hotels across 18 countries providing over 12,000 rooms to Ukrainian people via this platform.

https://www.hospitalitysupport.org/ is now live and works to directly support displaced Ukrainian people as part of a global effort to protect those now vulnerable to unjust and unwarranted conflict in the region. We offer solidarity with Ukraine and continue to welcome any further ways in which we are able to support the Ukrainian community.

The plea for more hotels to offer refuge continues and we encourage hospitality industry professionals to greatly consider offering support through this service or any other means.
